Wisconsin Public Employee Safety and Health Poster
The Public Employee Safety and Health is a Wisconsin job safety law poster provided for businesses by the Wisconsin Department Of Workforce Development. This notification is required for some employers, such as public sector employers.
This poster details the standards set by the State of Wisconsin for occupational safety and health for public sector employers and employees. The authority for this ruling derives from Wisconsin statues section 101.055.
More specifically, the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services is required to adopt and enforce safety and health standards, at least equal to those provided in the private sector, that will provide protection to public employees that satisfies the standards promulgated by Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The poster goes on to note that employers can be cited or fined or prevented from operating in the State for failure to comply with the heretofore described standards. In addition, should any employer be found to have discriminated against an employee or employees as a result of them having exercised their rights under the OSHA standards, then will be subject to further recourse including but not limited to the punishments detailed above.
